VTG Hollister Babydoll Tank Top - 2000s Preppy Mall Core (Juniors’ S)

The babydoll silhouette was the lewkkkk for preppy hot girls in the early 2000s.

Whether it was a knit sweater or a summer dress, the flowy empire waist seemed to elevate a look instantly. (It was also nice to have a break from the skin-tight layered polos once in a while.)

Hollister’s current Y2K revival collection has a few recreations of those babydoll tops, but I swear they just aren’t hitting the same. The cuts are different - boxy & short - and they’ve replaced the original 100% cotton construction with cheaper materials like viscose or poly blends, which seem to fade and degrade after the first wash. 

It seems the original Y2K Hollister tops simply cannot be duplicated, even by the same damn company.

This is one of the reasons that their original babydoll tops - adorned with that instantly recognizable maroon seagull - are one of the most coveted vintage mall relics trending today.

This early 00s Hollister babydoll tank top comes in bright coral pink with chiffon ruffles along the v-neckline. The color and overall condition of this top are excellent, and with Hollister’s original recipe of 100% cotton, it’s sure to last through another mall era.
